Gem Mine Fun!

On Saturday we went to the gem mine.  It was totally awesome! 

I got a big bucket of dirt.

                                   Then I got to sift through the dirt to find my gems.                        

This is one of my favorites!



I can't wait to go again!



Mud Run Fun!!!

Flat Stanley and Flat Arthur are very jealous.  This is the first time that they have not been allowed to go on one of my big adventures.  On Saturday I went to the Mud Run. My mom would not let Flat Stanley and Flat Arthur go to the Mud Run because she was worried they would get ruined. My cousins came. I jumped into a huge mud pit. There was a shower to wash your shoes. The spray was so hard it blew my foot.  It hurt and tickled at the same time.  I got very dirty.  My favorite obstacle was the mud pit. We ran up a hill and jumped in. It was awesome!!! I hope we get to go every year.

Flat Stanley and I and Flat Arthur are jumping on a GIANT trampoline. Boing!  I got it from the Easter Bunny. The egg hunt was fun, Easter dinner was delicious, but my favorite part was the trampoline.

Silly Dilly Song Fun!

Tonight we read one of my favorite books called take me out of the bathtub and other silly dilly songs.  You can tell it is silly because the author even uses all lower case letters in the title!  We have been singing my favorite song from the book which is Stinky Stinky Diaper Change to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.  It is so stinking fun!  Did you get my play on words?  It goes like this

Stinky stinky diaper change
Boy, my brother smells so strange
He made something in his pants
Sure hope it won't attract ants

It's okay, don't hold your nose
Now he's clean and in fresh clothes

Jack Tales Fun!

Yesterday Julia Ebel came to our school.  She is a famous author and story teller.  She signed my book.  It says Sawyer you have tales to tell too.  I wonder if she has seen my blog with all of my tales about me and Flat Stanley and Flat Arthur.  We are writing lots of tales of our adventures!  We read some of the Jack Tales and I liked the story about the man who tricked the other man into thinking that pumpkins were mule eggs!

Crown Me!

Tonight we learned the rules for checkers.  Tomorrow night is the big match!  I hope I get to say "crown me" a whole lot!  I wonder who is going to win?  I have played with checkers at Cracker Barrel but I have never played a real game.  We have a really neat magnetic travel set of checkers so Emmy and I can play in the car. 

Sawyer, Flat Stanley and Flat Arthur: Triple Trouble at Triple Falls

On Sunday we went to Triple Falls.  It was about a two mile hike but it felt like three hundred thirty-three miles! 

The falls are called triple falls because it is really a set of three waterfalls all together.  Some girl was leaning over to touch the water and the sign said not to.  I was scared she was going to fall in.  My mom and dad would not let us get close to the edge.  The falls were awesome!

Triple Falls is a part of Dupont State Forest.  I love to go on hikes with my family!


One really neat thing we did was to identify tracks that we saw in the mud.  Below are five pictures - can you identify who left each track?  The answers will be at the bottom.

Flash Flood Warning!

We had a flash flood warning for our county.  Mom drove over a bridge and the water was really high.  It was flooding the fields.  When I got home even our playground was flooded.  Mom and I looked up floods on the Internet.  Flooding can do a lot of damage.  I hope it stops raining soon.  I am glad we live on a hill!

Big Fun at Big Mike's!

I went to Big Mike's with my mom, dad, sister, and brothers. We ate pizza and played a pinball game. It was called Revenge From Mars.  Then I played a racing game. I played a course that was planet mars.  Also I played Galaga.  We picked Big Mike's instead of going to the Monster Truck Show because it would have been too loud for my baby brother and Grandmomma and Pap couldn't keep him.  If you ever go to Brevard, make sure you go to Big Mike's.  It's delicious and fun!

Wii Had Fun!

Flat Arthur and Flat Stanley and I had fun playing the Wii!  I love it when my whole family plays the Wii for family game night.  My favorite games are Despicable Me, Sonic Colors and Wipeout!  I don't like it when the timer goes off and I have to stop playing the Wii. 

The Mobius Band Band

Flat Stanley, Flat  Arthur, and I made Mobius bands. Together we are the Mobius Band Band! A Mobius band is made by paper and tape. You cut a strip and then put the ends together but before you tape it you have to give one end a half twist. If an ant were to crawl along the length of this strip, it would return to it's starting point having crawled across every part of the strip without ever crossing an edge. This is neat because if you have an odd number of twists then you have one boundary but if you have an even number of twists then you have two boundaries. The Mobius Band was discovered by the German mathmaticians August Ferdinand Mobius and Johann Benedict Listing in 1858.

The Demo Team

I have been taking karate at the Little Gym for since I was four years old.  I can break boards with my hands and feet using different moves.  I am now a brown belt! I went to demo team for the first time. I got a badge.  On demo team we go places and perform our karate moves for people.  I love it!

News Flash - the bulletin board fell on Arthur too!  During the week we had so much snow I made Flat Arthur.  He and Stanley are going to have many great adventures together!

Snow Much Fun!

On January 10th there was a big snowstorm. It was the coolest birthday  present ever!  Because on that day, I turned 7years old!

Flat Stanley and I had a blast snow boarding!  I built a ramp with my uncle and we jumped it!  It was awesome! 

Birthday Fun!

I am now 7 years old!  I got great presents. I got a Loops m3 and a ds game and also a bunch of Bakugan.  The cake was yummy! It was decorated with bakugan.  Because of the snow I could not go to my party. I am going to have my party next weekend.

The week before Christmas break I got really sick with the stomach flu.  Then we had Christmas break.  Then we had lots of snow and no school.  So now I am catching up on my blog.  Here is a pic of me at my grandmomma and paps house with a present I love.  Then there is a pic of me opening presents with my sister and brothers.  We had fun.
